Missing you....or not.
In late June, I wrote about the reintegration into society post vaccine. One of my biggest observations is how much recovery time I need from activities that pre-pandemic I could handle. Don’t get me wrong, I am so happy to be socializing with the people I love, but I need many more days of rest now to recover. I guess I didn’t realize how much sitting around time there really was during the pre-vaccine days. And I sorta miss aspects of that. I miss being instead of doing.
Before she died, Nora Ephron made a list of what she’d miss and what she wouldn’t miss about life. You can read it here.
Today’s Prompt (19): Make a list of things you miss and don’t miss. Here are some ideas:
Pre-pandemic vs. post vaccine
Pre-pandemic vs. pandemic
Pre-diagnosis of invisible illness vs. post diagnosis of invisible illness
Pre-surgery vs. post surgery
As always, there is no one way of doing this. Do it your way. That’s what creative writing is about.
Set a timer for 20 minutes. Turn off all other notifications, alarms and eliminate any background noises and distractions. Light a candle. Grab your favorite drink and get cozy. Write for 25 minutes. If you are in a zone, keep writing. Don’t edit while you’re writing — let your hand take control.
